This was a long drive with a hold up over the new Forth road bridge. At least the weather was good. Inverness is not very big and the centre was only 10 minutes from our hotel. First full day spent at Culloden Moor vbery atmospheric and the exhibition was very good. From there to Brodie castle (right), Nairn beach and finally to Fort George. The fort was really good but the ulterior motive was to watch the dolphins from the Fort walls – fabulous.

Day two was a tour of Loch Ness. What glorious weather and stunning views all the way down to Fort Augustus on the northyern banlk and then bank up the southern bank to visit the Falls of Foyers. Absolutely shattered.
Third day we ventured up into Glen Affric. A drive along rough track then a steep walk to Plodda falls. Then back down and further into the glen with a walk up to a fabulous view point to see along the glen. Still snow on the tops of the mountains.
Next day was the long drive back. Took a break near Dunbar for lunch and a walk around Belhaven gardens.
