Yorkshire visits

Not a very long way to travel for the first Yorkshire visit – a stay in York. We went to Fountains abbey and Ripon first. Then to the small boutique hotel we found in York, just a walk from Bootham bar .

Spent the day in York, just wandered around the town centre, visited the treasurers house and the Guild hall with a slow lunch.

Anne was having a spa treatment this morning so I was up and out early into York to take some photographs before the tourists got out and about. Mind you I need not have hurried as they didn’t appear until after 10 and I was finioshed and on my way back to the hotel. Afternoon visit to Beningborough Hall just to the north of York.

Second Yorkshire visit was to visit Eric and Brenda. Staying in Homfirth with them was really relaxing. Out and about for a day top Howarth, East Riddlesden Hall and then to Saltaire. Enjoyed them all. We will go back to the mill at Saltaire sometime.

Called at the Yorkshire sculpture park. Spend hours walking around the huge site with some installations in the woodlands – what a fabulous place. Another return visit is called for.
