Travelled down to Kingston upn Hull via the North Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire wolds. Visited Rievaulx Abbey in the damp morning before moving on to Malton for lunch in the sun. Enjoyed ther drive in the MGF. Hotel has a great view of the Humber Bridge.

Had a day at the coast. Bright sunshine and warm despite the time of year. Spurn bird obsevatory was interesting, flat with large flocks of birds and a peregrine flashing by. Then it was up the coast to Withernsea and then on to Hornsea (see left). Both pleasant places for a wlak along the sea front.
Spent the day in Hull. Visited the old town. It is quaint with narrow streets, old buildings and a couple of interesting museums. Marina also worth a visit. Lots of work going on to improve the town centre which is more run down than we remembered from last visit.
