Liverpool stay

Stayed in Skelmersdale just a short distance outside Liverpool so we could go and see the Terra-cotta army figures. Called in Lancaster for lunch on the way down, very wet. Not many places nearby to eat in, hotel restaurant was good.

First full day was spent along the coast to see the Gormley statues at Formby. Good walk along the sand dunes nature reserve. Then on to Rufford Hall (left) a very old National trust property.

Went into Liverpool by train, very easy and got us right into the centre. As the booking for the Terra Cotta figures was later afternoon we had plenty of time for a good look around the city. Went inot the Beatles experience and visited both cathedrals. Each splendid in it own way. Terra Cotta army figures were stunning, the real thing must be amazing.
