North Wales holiday

First time away in the MGf. Good drive over to LLandudno for a flying visit. Long walk along the sea front out to the pier. Then to the hotel in Betws-y-Coed. A good central place to stay with its own attractions.

Port Meirion after a drive over the hills was our first visit. What alovely place to walk around. Pretty, colourful and peaceful. Not very big but gives a good impression due to the location. Followed this with a visit to Caenarvon castle. Impressive fortress in super location.

Aber valley was a long walk to see a spectacular 35m waterfall (Aber falls) which was helped by the overnight rainfall. Steep wooded scree slopes hiding the waterfall on the way up the valley.

More relaxed walk at Bodnant gardens which were still well in bloom in mid October, just shows what a mild climate does.

Final day trip to Angelsey and visit to Plas Newydd. Bit of a miserable day weather wise but it cetainly made the river look good in Betws-y-Coed.
