Decided on a few nights in the Lake District. Stayed in Kendal at a very nice hotel. Journey across was good via Kirby Stephen and Sedbergh. Checked in to hotel then had a walk along Scout Scar. Good views all around, Hellvelyn, Morecambe Bay, The Pennines. Good meal in Italian restaurant.
Second day spent walking around Tarn Howes, which was quite busy, and then up the hill to Coniston Lead Mine. Weather was good and some fabulous views in both locations. Meal in hotel with relative and partner. Both of us tired after busy day.

Raining this morning, no hurry to go out and get wet. Visited Blackwell arts and crafts house. Some fabulous designs in it. Garden centre for lunch then the rain stopped so up to Ambleside and walk by Grasmere and Rydal water. Mexican food this evening.
Home today. Over the hills rather than main roads and called in at Low Barns bird reserve for a walk around. Three good days away, thoroughly enjoyed.
